Information Collection

Proflamps is the sole owner of the information collected on proflamps.com. Proflamps collects information from users at several different points on our website. 

 

Profile
The user profile solely consists of the information that we collect during the registration process and the checkout process. This information includes, the users e-mail address, person name shipping address information, invoice address information, phone number and if applicable, company name and VAT number. The user may view and edit all the information in the user profile using the account section of the website.

 

Orders

We keep track of all the shopping carts and orders created by a user, complete or incomplete, and link them to the user profile.

 

Cookies
A cookie is a piece of data stored on the user's computer tied to information about the user. We use both session ID cookies and persistent cookies. For the session ID cookie, once users close the browser, the cookie simply terminates. A persistent cookie is a small text file stored on the user's hard drive for an extended period of time. This cookie is used to link the user’s session to session information on the webserver. This cookie is essential for the website to function properly. This cookie is removed every time the web browser is closed.

Preference cookie: ‘cookies’

This cookie is used to automatically hide the cookie notification shown on each page to notify the user about the use of cookies. This is a persistent cookie that is kept forever.

 

Preference cookie: ‘IncVat’

This cookie is used to store the user’s preference about wether to show prices including or excluding VAT.

 

Preference cookie: ‘closeJavascriptWarning’

This cookie is used to automatically close the no-Javascript warning which is shown when a user has Javascript disabled.

 

Data cookie: ‘Basket’

This cookie is used to store the current shopping cart of the user. It is a persistent cookie that is kept for seven days and restores the shopping cart and the items the user has placed there, when the session is lost.

 

Data cookie: ‘vouchers’

This cookie stores all the vouchers/coupon codes the user has added to the shopping cart. This is a persistent cookie that is kept for seven days.

 

Data cookie: ‘OrderId’

This cookie stores the order id of the current order. This cookie is used by the checkout process to restore a user’s session if it is lost during checkout or payment. This is a non-persistent cookie.

 

Log Files
Like most standard website servers we use log files. This includes internet protocol (IP) addresses, browser type, internet service provider (ISP), referring/exit pages, platform type, date/time stamp. We only use the information in the log files to detect possible security breaches, to investigate possible fraud cases and to detect and solve technical issues. Clear Gifs (Web Beacons/Web Bugs)
We do not employ a software technology called clear gifs (a.k.a. Web Beacons/Web Bugs), but some of the third party services may make use of them. Clear gifs are tiny graphics with a unique identifier, similar in function to cookies, and are used to track the online movements of Web users. The main difference between the two is that clear gifs are invisible on the page and are much smaller, about the size of the period at the end of this sentence.
